Dr. Willnella Patray Peters received a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Medicine from Saint Augustine’s College and a Bachelor of Science in Vision Science from Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Peters graduated in 2009 with her Doctor in Optometry with honors from Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry. She wrote Bella’s First Eye Exam because she wanted children to learn about the eyes and enjoy having their eyes examined. Dr. Peters grew up reading Sci-fi and fantasy books. She started a nonprofit organization Helping Eyes Against the Loss of Sight that performs mission trips in different countries around the world. She is a member of several academic organizations.
